Ferns Country Store
About This Spot
Nestled on a quiet corner of Lowell Street in Carlisle, Ferns Country Store greets visitors with the gentle hum of a busy neighborhood hub. The air carries the comforting mix of fresh sandwiches being prepared inside, alongside the subtle aroma of coffee brewing—a quiet invitation to pause and settle in. Here, the pace slows just enough to savor a moment, whether you’ve dropped by for a quick wrap or linger to chat on the front porch where familiar faces gather.
Ferns Country Store strikes a warm balance between a well-loved convenience store and a casual local eatery. Inside, you’ll find a welcoming space that feels both practical and nurturing, with food and community intertwined. There’s a simple pleasure in watching families split pizza on the outdoor patio or cyclists recharging before hitting the road again, all sharing this unhurried slice of small-town rhythm.
The atmosphere is quietly lively, punctuated by the exchanges of neighbors and the soft background buzz of daily life. It’s easy to imagine children stopping by after soccer practice, clutching cold drinks while parents pick up market staples or a freshly baked loaf. Ambitions here aren’t grand—they’re about creating a space where comfort meets convenience, all within a stone’s throw of vintage Carlisle landmarks and greenways.
What makes Ferns especially memorable is the genuine feeling of community woven into everyday moments. The staff’s casual friendliness and the feeling that they’re part of your routine, not just a business, lend the store a subtle but enduring character. Whether you’re craving a thoughtfully crafted breakfast sandwich or a unique health-minded beverage, there’s a sincerity in the offerings and a quiet encouragement to try something new, surrounded by familiar smiles.
More than just a spot to pick up essentials, Ferns Country Store invites you into the gentle flow of local life. It’s a place where the ordinary becomes a little warmer, a little more connected, and as friendly as a neighbor waving hello as you come and go.

Love this place - coffee, sandwiches, salads, pizza, dry and refrigerated goods, and community. Bikers stopping to recharge and chat, sitting on the front porch. Kids getting gatorades and grilled cheeses after soccer. Families splitting pizza on the patio. It might have its “understaffed for how busy it is” days, but be patient and overtip! It’s worth it!

Pretty good deli. I think the rueben could have used some mustard or something, was missing some flavor. The market items are not priced which I find a bit annoying as a shopper.

Fantastic place! Great sandwiches and wraps. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Atmosphere and staff make it a casual and comfortable place.

Some of the most unique, on-the-healthier-side beverages and foods I have found! They have a ramp or stairs (thanks for the ramp), and they have a full deli and bakery, large indoor and outdoor seating areas, generous parking lot, and all right across from a really historic cemetery and tiny greenway! Sea moss drinks are a first for me. Not my fav but glad I tried! Haha
